BA lifetime tier points
Lifetime Gold currently requires 550,000 lifetime tier points. The total accumulates over your membership rather than resetting with the annual status year.
Lifetime points versus annual tier points
The same eligible activity can contribute to two different views: your current annual tier-point balance for moving through Bronze, Silver and Gold, and your cumulative lifetime balance. The annual balance follows BA's collection year; the lifetime total does not reset each year.
Use the tier points calculator for a current booking estimate, then track the posted figures in your official account.
How far is 550,000?
The threshold is deliberately long term. At 10,000 qualifying lifetime tier points per year, 550,000 would take 55 years; at 25,000 per year, it would take 22 years. Those are mathematical illustrations, not a recommendation to spend for status.
BA can change earning rules and thresholds. Base travel decisions on the value of the journey and benefits you will actually use, then treat lifetime progress as a secondary outcome.
Frequently asked questions
British Airways currently sets Lifetime Gold at 550,000 lifetime tier points.
No. Qualifying lifetime tier points accumulate across your Club membership. Your annual tier-point balance still follows the current annual collection period for ordinary Bronze, Silver and Gold qualification.
British Airways says you can view the total in your online Club account or in the British Airways app.
