How to read the result
Virgin Atlantic varies reward prices with route, cabin, travel date and demand. Saver seats are its lowest points option. The calculator uses Virgin's published standard and peak maximum Saver prices; where Virgin publishes a route-specific starting example, it shows that too.
A flight can cost more when Saver inventory is unavailable. Use the result to plan your balance, then follow the official link to check the exact flight.
What is not included
Taxes, fees and carrier charges vary and are payable in addition to Virgin Points. The tool does not check seats, predict demand or price partner-airline rewards.
Before buying points, compare the complete reward cost with a like-for-like cash fare using the buy Virgin Points calculator.
Worked examples from London
New York in Economy, one way: Virgin's published Saver example can start at 6,000 points, with a standard maximum of 10,000 and a peak maximum of 20,000. Two passengers require twice those amounts.
New York return with mixed seasons: a standard outbound and peak inbound gives a maximum planning total of 30,000 points per person—not twice the outbound season. The calculator asks for both dates so it can add the two legs correctly.
Family planning: four people on that mixed-season return would see a 120,000-point maximum estimate, plus the live taxes, fees and carrier charges for all four travellers.
Route and calendar limits
The date selector covers only Virgin's currently published seasonal calendar. Caribbean and Maldives dates extend further than other route groups. A date beyond a route's coverage is rejected rather than silently treated as standard.
Seasonal operations are checked separately. For example, the Virgin-operated Seattle route is limited to its published 24 October 2026 end date; partner-operated winter options are outside this calculator.
