The 36-month rule in plain English
Your balance stays active when at least one Avios is collected, spent, bought or shared within each 36-month period. The safest approach is to create a calendar reminder well before three years and confirm that the transaction has posted.
Simply moving Avios between your own programme accounts with Combine My Avios does not count under the current Club conditions. Do not leave an uncertain activity until the final day.
Ways to create qualifying activity
- Collect Avios from an eligible flight or partner transaction.
- Spend Avios on an eligible reward or part-payment option.
- Buy or share Avios through an official channel.
- Check the transaction appears in your account history and keep the confirmation.
