British Airways Gold benefits

The current published route to Gold is 20,000 tier points within the collection year from 1 April to 31 March. BA awards a tier when the threshold is reached; tier points cannot be spent and reset annually.

9 Avios per qualifying £1 with British Airways or American Airlines. Iberia flights use a separate euro-based rate. Other partners can calculate earnings by distance, cabin and fare.

BA Gold maps to oneworld Emerald. Recognition on another airline is useful, but the exact check-in, baggage, seat and lounge rules are set by the itinerary and operating carrier.

Gold Priority Rewards cost double the regular Avios and have conditions. Concorde Room access has separate eligibility rules, and extra reward availability is not guaranteed on every search. Always check the official benefit page for the airport, airline, fare and companion rules attached to your trip.

Value only the benefits you expect to use before your status expires. Start with lounge visits, baggage and seat-selection fees you would genuinely have paid, then compare that amount with any extra travel or fare cost required. Do not count a benefit at its retail price if you would not otherwise buy it.
